A.B.C.L, which operates television news channels under the brand name TV 9, has launched 2 city-centric news channels - TV 9 Mumbai & News 9 in Mumbai and Bengaluru respectively.
TV 9 Mumbai & News 9 have been launched simultaneously on January 9, today at 9 am. This company is investing Rupees Twenty crore in the Hindi news and current affairs urban channel TV 9 Mumbai & Rupees Fifteen crore in the English news channel News9.
K.V.N Murthy, vice- president, operations, ABCL, says,"The company will follow up the launch of TV 9 Mumbai with all Bollywood news channel Lehrein. We are adding 3 channels in the present quarter to take our total number of channels to 8."
Chandramohan Puppala has been roped in as channel head of TV 9 Mumbai, which targets the big cities of Maharashtra with a primary focus on Mumbai. Murthy expects to cover Seventy per cent of the Mumbai metropolitan distribution region within Two-Three days.
A.B.C.L runs news channels like TV 9, TV 9 Karnataka, TV 9 Gujarat, a Telugu channel called Sanskriti,Bengali channel Kolkata TV and a Malayalam channel India Vision.......
